The Federal Government has inaugurated the World Blood Donor Day Committee which comprises members from the commission, government agencies, and non-governmental organisations, including the World Health Organisation.
Dr Omale Amedu, the National Blood Service Commission’s interim director general, made this announcement in a press release that was signed by Haruna Abdullahi, the head of media and publicity for the organisation.
The World Blood Donor Day celebration is slated for June 14, 2023, and the committee’s job is to make sure it’s a success.
Omale stressed the need for the event to be successful and well-organised, highlighting the crucial role of blood donors in the health care system.
