The Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Mr Kayode Alabi, today joined the annual Palm Sunday rally which precedes Easter.
Alabi congratulated Christians on Palm Sunday, which he said was symbolic to Christians.
He charged the Christians to live an exemplary life that mirrors the life and virtues of Jesus Christ.
Speaking on the upcoming electioneering year, he admonished Christians to partake in electoral processes by getting registered and turn out en mass to vote at the 2023 polls.
Alabi also encouraged Christians not to relent in praying for Kwara state and Nigeria. He said the church should occupy her place and stand in the gap for the nation.
In his speech, the acting Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Kwara State Chapter, Rt. Reverend Sunday Adewole expressed appreciation to God, recalling that the Palm Sunday rally has not been held in the last two years because of the Covid-19 pandemic, among other reasons.
Also speaking, Pa Olusola Ajolore charged Christians to live a life of humility as exemplified by Jesus. He admonished them to permit Jesus into their heart and trust solely in God.
