The G-5 Governors have stated that they have not agreed to any deal with any of the Presidential Candidates.
The five governors who are all of the People’s Democratic Party, have fallen out with their Party after Atiku Abubakar emerged as the Party’s presidential flagbearer, defeating Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.
Since the fall-out with the Party, there has been speculation that the quintet of Samuel Ortom of Benue, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Nyesom Wike of Rivers, Seyi Makinde of Oyo and Ikezie Ikpeazu of Abia, have endorsed another Party’s candidate.
But on Friday when the speculations intensified with Vanguard reporting the govenors struck a deal with APC’s Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Wike came forth to quell them.
On Friday during the flag-off of the construction of Eneka-Igbo Etche Road, Wike said “[They said] Wike had an interview with BBC and he said we have a deal with so and so. Meanwhile, no video, no audio. And some of you waste your time listening to such things.”
