The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) seem to have gone spiritual against looters in the country going by its statement on Friday.
In the terse but strongly worded statement posted on its official facebook page on Friday night, the EFCC said every looter is a wicked soul and shall find no peace.
The statement, which was accompanied by a photo which also carried a similar inscripted message, said even God approves that the wicked should have no peace.
The statement added that every looter must produce everything he or she has looted and face justice.
“Every looter is a wicked soul and shall find no peace. Even the Almighty God approves that there should be no peace for the wicked. The Eagle is watching you and it’s your turn to vomit and face justice.”
The EFCC has as one of its mandates, arresting, investigating and prosecuting perpetrators of economic and financial crimes in the country.
Recall that few days ago, the Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris was arrested in Kano State by the anti-graft agency for allegedly diverting and laundering a whooping N80 billion from the federal government.
The federal government on Wednesday this week announced the suspension of the embattled accountant-general with a view to allowing a thorough investigation.
In a letter conveying Idris’ suspension, the Minister of Finance, Mrs Zainab Ahmed warned the embattled public official not to visit the office at any time.
According to her, the accountant-general’s suspension was in line with the public service rules.
