Eleven (11) suspected internet fraudsters, popularly known as “Yahoo Boys” have been arrested by operatives of the Benin zonal command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
They were arrested on Thursday August 25, 2022 in Benin City, Edo State.
The suspects, according to the EFCC Spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren are Kelvin Azuibike, Andrew Otuokparwo, Miracle Eloze, Junior Oseyi, Okoye Godfrey, Oseiwa Oifoghe and Odia Sylvester. Others are Ekhazor Evans, Collins Akpotu, Victor Okoh and Francis Agathor.
Uwujaren said they were nabbed at their hideout following intelligence on their alleged internet fraud-related activities.
He said items recovered from the suspects at the point of arrest include mobile phones and laptops, adding that “They will be arraigned in court soon.”
