Liverpool forward, Sadio Mane has said he longs to win the Ballon d’Or.
The Senegalese forward has won the African Cup of Nations and has already collected 2 out of four trophies avaliable to him at club level this season.
He helped his side win the League Cup and the FA Cup finals, beating Chelsea on both occasions.
The 30-year-old and his Liverpool teammates are looking to beat Real Madrid in this Saturday’s European Cup Final in Paris.
Asked if he thinks African players are always sidelined in voting process, he told Sky Sports: “It’s true, which is sad.
“This cup, the Africa Cup of Nations, is the biggest trophy I have won in my life. For me it would be even more special to have another bonus which is the Ballon d’Or, and I would be the happiest player in the world.”
The nominees will be announced on Aug. 12 and the winner declared on Oct. 17.
