Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has tackled the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), over allegations of threats levelled against him.
Aminu Tambuwal, the Governor of Sokoto State who also serves as the Director-General of the Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign organisation, is said to have made the statement to which Wike is allegedly responding.
Tambuwal stated last month that the PDP would respond to the antics of the five PDP governors who disbanded the party after allegations surfaced that the G-5 PDP Governors, led by Wike, had a meeting in London with Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
On Wednesday, January 25, 2023, the Rivers State governor’s special media assistant, Kelvin Ebiri, issued a statement in which he called the threat to deal with him as absurd.
The statement reads: “Most of you have watched on YouTube where they said they will deal with me when they win. You can’t win. You’ve not won, you are threatening to deal with some people. Will God allow you?
“All of them planning and saying they will deal with us, they’ve not been born. I dare them, let them try it,” he said.
