Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has said the youths of Nigeria are free to contest the 2023 presidential election with him or any elderly person seeking the number one seat.
Atiku stated this on Saturday while fielding questions from newsmen during his visit to ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
There have been calls in some quarters of the country for power to move into the hands of the youths, because of the seeming apathy that the elderly people currently running the country have not effected the desired change.
The former vice president said since its a competition, no one is stopping the youths as they are free to contest.
The 2019 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, also disclosed that at the appropriate time he would declare his intention to contest the election.
When asked whether he was sure of getting the PDP ticket, Atiku boasted in the affirmative.
The Adamawa-born politician is believed to be the biggest financial asset for PDP, as the one of the only individuals who could put up a good fight with the ruling All Progressives Party, APC.
