Victor Osimhen has celebrated his player of the month award with his 17th league goal of the season as Napoli beat short-handed Cremonese 3-0 on Sunday.
The Nigerian striker was voted the player of the month of January after impressive form that saw him score five goals in five games within the month in review.
He beat off competition from fellow Nigerian Ademola Lookman who scored five goals in four Serie A games to claim the award for the second time in his career having won the award first in March 2022.
And on the day he received the award, he ensured he score another goal to mark the award.
Osimhen scored Napoli’s second goal against Cremonese who were without 6 of their first-team players including the Nigerian duo of Cyriel Dessers, and David Okereke.
Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti also picked up the award of the best coach of the month for his second this season having previously won the award in October.
