Victor Osimhen continued impressive form in front of goal for his club Napoli in the Serie A this season.
The 24-year-old Nigerian International forward netted his 15th and 16th of the season as Napoli went on to record a 3-0 win over 17th place Spezia in a Matchday 21 fixture on Sunday afternoon.
Spalletti’s men who sit 13 points clear of second-placed Inter Milan heading into the encounter at the Alberto Picci stadium, created all the chances and were the better team in a barren first half.
The away side then got their noses in front just two minutes after the break through winger Khvicha Kvaratskahelia from the penalty spot after a Spezia defender handled the ball in his box.
Eight minutes after the hour mark, Victor Osimhen scored his 15th goal of the second, the Super Eagles forward connected into a cross from the edge of the box from his teammate and slotted the ball inside the right post to extend the league leaders lead.
He then completed his brace five minutes later after a mistake from the home side defense to score his 16th goal of the season as Napoli strolled to a 3-0 victory.
Osimhen’s brace against Spezia takes his tally for the season to 16 goals from 17 appearances, surpassing his best goal tally in Europe top five league of 14 goals which he recorded from 27 appearances last season.
Victory for the high-flying Napoli takes them to 16 points clear of second palace inter Milan who face AC Milan on Sunday night.
