The United States have imposed visa bans on all the players who acted to undermine the 2023 general elections in Nigeria.
Many, especially those of the opposition, who failed at the polls, have been calling on western nations, which are often the tourist destinations of Nigerian politicians, to ban those who partook in election rigging.
Confirming the United States government’s decision to ban the disruptors was Secretary of State, Antony Blinken.
He said in a tweet posted on his official Twitter handle on Monday.
The tweet read, “We have imposed visa restrictions on specific individuals who undermined the democratic process during Nigeria’s 2023 elections. We remain committed to supporting Nigerian aspirations to strengthen democracy and rule of law.”
However, he didn’t reveal the names of those the restriction apply to.
