The Mutual Union of the Tiv in America (MUTA) has announced their scholarship award winners for 2023.
According to the statement released by the Education Committee of the Mutual Union of the Tiv in America and signed by James Tar’Gire who is the
Chairman of the Committee, 14 persons have been picked across the 14 Tiv-speaking local governments of Benue state.
The statement was titled, “Winners of the 2023 MUTA Education Scholarship Awards.”
It read, “The Education Committee of the Mutual Union of the Tiv in America (MUTA) is thrilled to announce the recipients of the 2023 MUTA Education Scholarship Awards. MUTA scholarships are awarded to deserving Tiv undergraduate students from the 14 Tiv-speaking local governments of Benue state and one each from Nasarawa and Taraba states who are enrolled in STEM, Medicine and allied medical programs in Nigerian Universities. The scholarships are based on merit and are awarded to students who have demonstrated consistent and outstanding academic prowess, leadership potential, and a strong commitment to the Tiv community.

The statement further read, “These awardees have not only demonstrated exceptional academic achievements but have also shown remarkable dedication to personal growth, community involvement, and the promotion of Tiv cultural heritage. They serve as exemplary role models for the younger generation, and MUTA is proud to support them in their educational journey. The committee also thank all the applicants for their hard work and dedication and wish them well in their future endeavors. The winners will be honored at an upcoming awards ceremony scheduled to take place on the campus of Benue State University in mid July.
