Napoli’s impressive start to the UCL season continued with a 0-2 round of 16 first leg victory over Frankfurt on Tuesday night.
After a bright start in Germany, Napoli was handed a penalty kick after Victor Osimhen was fouled in the box on the 36th minute tnut Kvaratskahelia failed to convert from the spot.
Four minutes later, Victor Osimhen scored the game’s opener after connecting with a well timed cross from Hirving Lozano to give the away side a one goal lead into the break.
A goal which is the Nigerian striker’s 20th goal in 24 appearances this season for Napoli which includes seven consecutive goals in Serie A for the first time in the history of the club.
After the restart, Frankfurt’s Kolo Muani was given a red card for a rough challenge on Anguissa before Napoli’s captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo doubled the lead for the Italian Serie A leaders in the 65th minutes to stretch the tie further in their favor.
The victory gives Napoli a two-goal advantage going into the second league which will hold in a fortnight in Napoles as the club continued their awesome start to the season.
