Nigeria’s Flying Eagles bounced back strongly in the loser’s final of the U20 African Cup of Nations against the Young Carthage Eagles of Tunisia with a resounding 4-0 victory.
The Nigerian side lost 0-1 in the semi-final to Gambia and Senegal got the better of Tunisia in the semi-final of the tournament.
Flying Eagles started the match against Tunisia with full confidence and they dominated the proceedings right from the blast of the whistle.
Ibrahim Muhammad put Nigeria ahead halfway into the first half and ensured that they are in firm control of the game going into the half time.
Nigeria improved on their performance early in the second half as two quick-fire goals from Ahmed Abdullahi and Jude Sunday made it 3-0 in their favour.
Sunday completed his brace late in the second half to give Nigeria a comfortable 4-0 win.
The victory over the North African country ensured that Nigeria’s Flying Eagles finished 3rd and claimed a bronze medal in the U20 AFCON competition.
