Nigeria’s Flying Eagles hero Solomon Agbalaka has insisted that the team deserved the 1-0 win over Egypt o Wednesday.
The Nigerian side defeated host Young Pharaohs by a lone goal courtesy of Agbalaka’s second-half powerful header.
The lanky defender who was also named Man of the Match expressed his excitement about the outcome of the game.
“We deserved to win,” he said after he was awarded the Man of the Match.
“Worked very hard, so I would like to thank my coach and all my colleagues for their efforts.
“I’m very happy with the result of the match. The match was not easy as we were facing the hosts.”
The seven times African champions will face Mozambique in their last group game on Saturday.
