Super Eagles head coach José Peseiro stated that he is elated by the number of footballing talents produced by Nigeria after watching the training sessions of the U-17 boys, Golden Eaglets on Monday morning in Abuja.
According to a post from Oganla media on twitter, José Santos Peseiro said he is convinced that Nigeria is a country flowing with an abundance of football talents.
“I am impressed with what I have seen with the performance of the players here. Nigeria is known for having very talented players, so I am therefore not surprised with the performance of these players.
“You have to keep working hard and keep improving your game. Unfortunately, not all the players here will be selected. You should not give up if you fail to make the final team,” Peseiro added.
Ahead of the forthcoming U-17 AFCON in Algeria, Coach Ladan Bosso’s Golden Eaglets have been training in Abuja after being placed in group B alongside Zambia, Morocco and South Africa.
The head coach of the side is expected to release its official AFCON squad list before the end of the week.
The Eaglets qualified for the tournament after winning the U-17 WAFU B championship last year.
They defeated Burkina Faso 2-1 in the final of the tournament held in Ivory Coast.
The fifteenth edition of the U-17 AFCON is scheduled to take place from April 29 to May 19 in Algeria.
