Tottenham Hotspur were able to reduce the gap between them and their North London rivals, Arsenal to a point when the two clashed on Thursday night.
The Antonio Conte-led side took the lead in the 22nd minute through Harry Kane, when the referee pointed to the spot after Cedric bundled Son Heung-min in the box.
Things went from bad to worse for Arteta’s men when Holding received a second yellow as he brought down Son for attempting to chase down an Eric Dier through ball.
Kane then made it 2:0 just four minutes later when Bentancur nodded down a Son cross to the back post, the English forward scoring with a flying header.
Any hopes for a comeback were quickly dashed just few minutes into the second half after Son lashed into the far corner to secure a crucial win.
Arsenal take on Newcastle next while their host on the night, Spurs will entertain relegation-struggling Burnley next.
