The vice presidential candidate of the APC, Kashim Shettima has denied saying that his principal, Bola Tinubu will show Nigerians the same kind of hospitality Sani Abacha showed them.
The News Agency of Nigeria had earlier quoted the former Borno State Governor as saying so.
However, in a turn around, Shettima came out to say if Bola Tinubu wins February’s elections, he will be as ruthless as the former Military Head of State, General Sani Abacha.
“I never attributed hospitality to Abacha in my speech. I did a rundown of our past Presidents and played up “the taciturnity and a dose of ruthlessness of a Sani Abacha” to show we need strongmen to deal with the nonstate actors who’ve turned Nigeria into a vast killing-field,” said Shettima.
