Lagos pentecostal preacher and president Muhammadu Buhari’s former running mate, Tunde Bakare has been disqualified from contesting the All Progressives Congress’ presidential primary elections.
Besides Bakare, Uju Ken-Ohanenye, who was the only female contestant in the APC was also disqualified.
Others disqualified from taking part in the primary include Tunde Bakare, Rochas Okorocha, Ben Ayade, Sani Yerima, Ken Nnamani, Ikeobasi Mokelu, Demeji Bankole, Felix Nicholas, Uju Ken-Ohanenye and Ajayi Borroffice.
On the other hand, the panel led by former APC Chairman, John Oyegun who had a public fallout with Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2018, cleared the former Lagos governor for the primaries, despite initial fears that he would be disqualified.
The list of those approved to contest Tuesday’s primaries are: Ahmad Lawan, Senate President; Emeka Nwajiuba, former junior minister; Ogbonnaya Onu, former science and technology minister, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Bola Tinubu and Ebonyi Governor David Umahi.
