Nyesom Wike, the immediate former Governor of Rivers State, declared that he had no intention of joining the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Wike made this disclosure after his Friday meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, along with the former Governor of Delta State, James Ibori, and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.
Wike claimed that he went to the gathering to support the newly sworn-in leader.
When asked if his defection to APC was on the agenda for the meeting, Wike said, “No. No plans. Nothing like that in the offing.
“We are Nigerians and we have come to give the president support.
“That is what is required. There is no big deal about that,” he said.
