Nottingham Forest secured a huge result to defeat Liverpool 1-0 at the City Ground in their Premier League clash.
Taiwo Awoniyi’s second-half strike was enough to earn the three points, scoring on the rebound after he initially struck the post.
The result lifts the Midlands outfit off the bottom of the Premier League and level on points with 17th-place Aston Villa.
Liverpool were poor in front of goal all afternoon, missing a host of chances to fall to a costly defeat in their bid to push back up the table.
Taiwo Awoniyi spent 7 years at Liverpool but failed to make a single appearance for the Merseysiders during which time he went out on loan six times before he made a permanent switch to Hertha Berlin the season before last.
He shone in Germany and was immediately signed by Nottingham Forest after they gained promotion to the top flight again.
