The head coach of the Super Eagles, Jose Peseiro has warned his players not to underrate Sao Tome and Principe in their Monday AFCON qualifier.
The Super Eagles take on the Falcons on Monday, and will be hoping to get a second win.
Sao Tome were thrashed 5-1 by the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau, while the Nigerians beat Sierra Leone 2:1, after first conceding.
Sao Tome and Principe are considered minnows, but Peseiro believes to underrate them could be detrimental.
“Sao Tome have good players in their team. We saw their last game, even though they lost, but didn’t do too badly.”
Peseiro told a press conference in Agadir, Morocco that, “We respect them. It’s good to respect your opponent in football.
“We need to be at our best to beat them. We have to show strong desire and determination,” the Portuguese added.
