Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable has bragged and declared that he is bigger than the organisers of The Headies.
Portable boasted about his popularity during an Instagram live session on Monday — shortly after the conclusion of this year’s award ceremony.
“I blow everywhere, my face show. Nowhere wey dem no dey hear zazuu. I blow pass who get headies,” he said.
“Who create am? People wey dey the table wey dey share the award, I blow pass them. People wey una give award, I blow pass them this year and I go blow pass them forever.
The singer also aimed a dig at Goya Menor for winning the ‘Best Street Hip Hop’ award.
The remix of ‘Ameno Amapiano’ by Menor and Nektunez, the Ghanaian singer, was adjudged winner of the category.
But in the video, Portable, who was also nominated in the category — but later disqualified — said Menor “does not deserve the gong.”
“Wetin concern me with person wey dem give ‘Street Artiste of the Year’ award. Which song you sing, you sabi sing? Since wey you don sing that song, you sing another one wey blow? Them carry street give you…” he added.
In a follow up post, the ‘Zazoo Zeh’ crooner said he owns the street, adding that his song “deserves to win the prize.”
“Na we them dey talk about, na we dem wan see… street has taken over… I’m the street, who are you, you didn’t blow, they’re only telling you lies…I own the street, ‘Zazoo Zeh’ is the reigning song, so hold your award,” he added.
In what seemed to be a direct response to Portable’s rant, Menor said he is the “king of the street”.
He also shared a video of himself with a gun while issuing a warning.
“You better behave or you’ll be misbehaved,” he declared.
In a post accompanying the clip, he wrote: “I hear say one Osarobo Dey make noise for internet. If you know me well you will know we don’t shout we do practical. Meet the king of the Street and Son of Grace.”
