Saudi Arabia is set to bend the laws to accommodate their big money signing, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo and his partner, Georgina are not legally married and the Saudis have strict laws against man and woman living together when they’re not married.
Ronaldo moved to the Middle East last week where he joined Al Nassr, after he parted ways with Manchester United and will be earning £175m per annum.
A Spanish outlet has reported that despite the fact that Ronaldo and Ms. Rodriguez are still unmarried, he is unlikely to be punished because he also happens to be on of the most marketable sports stars on the earth.
A Saudi official said: “Although the laws still prohibit cohabitation without a marriage contract, the authorities have begun to turn a blind eye and do not persecute anyone. Of course, these laws are used when there is a problem or a crime.”
