The All Progressives Congress chapter of Lagos State has said plots by the opposition parties to upturn the victory of incumbent Governor — Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at the just-concluded election, will fail.
Seye Oladejo, an APC spokesperson said this in an interview, where he also asserted that the governor’s performance during the first tenure resulted in the support he got from Lagosians which led to his victory.
Seye said: “Definitely the plot will fail. Lagos has always been a progressive state. The opposition will definitely fail. It is in their DNA to fail, they should be used to that by now.
“You will recall that during the presidential election, when our party lost Lagos, we went back to the drawing board to ensure that we mobilised our people effectively so that they were able to vote during the governorship election. It is still okay that they resorted to the election tribunal rather than taking laws into their hands.
“We have refrained in recent times to pass comment on the issue of the election because it is already an issue before the tribunal and it will be subjudice to preempt the outcome, but we are confident that the mandate freely given by the people of Lagos will be upheld by the tribunal and Babajide Sanwo-Olu will serve a second term as governor.”
