Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has asked the management of a brand-new radio station, Adamimogo FM, to use the platform to counter false information and fake news in the media.
This was said by the governor on Tuesday at the radio station’s opening in Lekki.
Sanwo-Olu emphasised the necessity for the media outlet to be factual in its reporting while being represented by the state commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso.
He said: “In these days of fake news, Adamimogo FM should be different and trail the blaze in disseminating right and factual information to Lagosians and the world at large.
Sam Alo, the radio station’s founder, had earlier stated: “The radio station was established to engage young people and help them in expressing their innate creativities and I want to assure listeners that the radio station will provide true content that is verifiable.”
