Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed why he opted to move to Saudi Arabia.
The 37-year-old penned a 2 year contract with Al Nassr on Friday and will earn a yearly salary of $75m.
At the end of last season, Ronaldo had given the impression that he wanted Champions League football and was believed to be on the lookout for a new club.
But all top European teams turned down the chance to sign him.
He had even said in 2015 that he would never join the MLS or any Asian side because he has his dignity to protect.
But now that the former Real Madrid and Manchester United and Juventus man has been made to eat his words, he said “I am fortunate that I have won everything I set out to win in European football and feel now that this is the right moment to share my experience in Asia.”
“I am looking forward to joining my new teammates and together with their help the Club to achieve success.”
