Erik ten Hag, Manchester United’s manager has confirmed that 5-time Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo refused to be substituted in on Wednesday night.
United won against Tottenham on Wednesday but a sulky Ronaldo stormed off while the game was still on.
Erik ten Hag said in his pre-Chelsea press conference that he refused to come on against Spurs before storming off.
He added that he is standing by his decision to ensure his players abide by the rules he has set.
Asked whether he was frustrated about not being in the top four, he said they are focused on Chelsea for now, despite the distractions caused by Ronaldo.
