The Nigerian Police have said their patrol vans are always rickety because of overuse.
Replying to a tweet on Thursday, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who is the PPRO Force Headquarters, said police vans will never be as clean as private cars.
New operational trucks, water canons, and Armoured Personnel Carriers, APCs, shared to commands and formations to solidify our security arrangements across the country. More have been acquired in preparation for the 2023 General Elections. We are good to go. Ire o pic.twitter.com/EQF9TmlYLC

“See, police patrol vans work 24 hrs. When u park ur car in the evening, that’s when another team on night duty will take over the same vehicle for night patrol. Operational vehicles can’t be that neat like private vehicles. Anything operational looks rugged.“So, the rigour these vehicles pass thru make them look rough and dirty. Many of them ply bad roads, etc. However, we always encourage DPOS and HODS to try and put them in good shape.
However, Nigerians refused to buy his idea. Some asked why military patrol vans are always in shape.
Army, naval officers uses same too.

Many police officers handling those vans are not qualified to drive. They just get on the wheels and start driving rubbish on Nigeria roads.
