The Lagos State Police Command have arrested four suspects who specialise in stealing vehicles and dismantling them for onward sale as spare parts.
The four were arrested by operatives of the Ijora Badia division of the command.
Spokesman of the command, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a statement posted on his Twitter handle on Wednesday.
Hundeyin gave the names of the suspects as Alafia Afiwajuomo, Ganiyu Tajudeen, Olamilekan Hassan, and Lucky Esomojumi.
He said the suspects were arrested at “Igamu under the bridge following a painstaking investigation and intelligence gathering that was launched when information was received on 29/09/2022 that a Toyota Camry was snatched at gunpoint from one Sandra (surname withheld) at Iganmu in Surulere, Lagos.”
He also said, “The car was in the process of being dismantled before it was recovered by the police.
“Parts of cars suspected to have been dismantled and sold as spare parts were also recovered at the scene.
“Suspects have been charged to court.”
