Real Madrid beat Espanyol on Saturday afternoon to claim their latest league title.
Goals from Rodrygo (2), Benzema and Asensio were enough to hand the Bernabeu side their 35th La Liga.
The league win makes Real Madrid the Spanish side with the highest league titles.
Before this season, they last won it in 2020 before fellow capital club, Atletico Madrid won last year’s edition.
The win means Carlo Ancelotti has now won all the domestic league titles in Europe’s top five leagues, that is: Italy, Germany, England, France and now Spain. No other manager has ever done that.
Ancelotti will be hoping to win his 4th UEFA Champions League crown, which will make him the manager with the highest wins in that competition, if he can lead his side to a win against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on Wednesday, after which he will then come up against either Liverpool or Villarreal in the final in Paris.
