Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State on Wednesday visited members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee at the Party’s National Secretariat after submitting his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for his 2023 re-election bid.
APC National Secretary, Sen. Iyiola Omisore who recieved the governor on behalf of the National Chairman, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu assured the him of the NWC’s intention to provide a level-playing field to all aspirants as well as a credible screening and primary election process.
The governor congratulated members of the NWC on their recent election and informed them that he has added value to governance and making the state “perhaps the safest in the country”.
On the contrary, Ogun has been bedevilled with different kinds of criminality in recent times, ranging from ritual killings, internet fraud (yahoo yahoo), cult clashes, amongst others as there is hardly a day without negative reports from the state.
“We are an incubation centre for high-level labour in the country and we are growing that as the education capital of the country. We remain the investment capital of Nigeria. We are building the first truly agro-cargo airport at Ilishan…Indeed what we are building is an Aerotropolis.” the governor said.
