Former presidential aide to ex President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has alleged that supporters of Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election, are members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
IPOB is accused of being behind the numerous attacks on government institutions in the South East region of the country. Although, the group has often denied responsibility.
Omokri made the allegation in a tweet on his official twitter handle on Monday evening.
He said he never thought Obi supporters were IPOB members until they came after his one year old daughter.
According to him, a people that can do that to a child should never and must never smell power.
He wrote, “The biggest mistake these Obidients made was coming after my one year old daughter. Whether today or tomorrow, a people that can do that to a child should NEVER and must NEVER smell power. Until they did that, I never thought they where IPOB! Now we know better.”
SWITCH NIGERIA recalls that Omokri, who has been a critic of Obi, had few days ago, cried out that supporters of the Labour Party presidential candidate, were after his life and family and that the public should hold Obi responsible should any harm come to him.
