Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi has continued to lead his Party members and contestants despite his defeat at the polls.
Obi came 3rd in the February 25th presidential election, behind Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party and winner, Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress.
Since then, Obi has continued to go around states his Party have contestants in the forthcoming gubernatorial and state assembly elections, rallying support for them.
The former Anambra State Governor has succeeded in putting Labour Party on the map, as many rode to victory on the back of his influence and popularity with the masses.
Over 35 Labour Party candidates got elected to the House of Representatives, while at least three got into the Senate.
This has broken the duopoly of the PDP and APC going into a new tenure.
In his support outings, Obi said in a tweet, “I passed through Ogbaru LGA on a private visit; stopped by the Market in Odekpe to greet and thank some Obidients for their fervent support.”
“We must build a better nation for ourselves and for the future generations. Once again, I congratulated our candidates who won various elective posts at the Federal Level, and encouraged those contesting at the State level to give in their best.”
