Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun, claims that he has proven his critics, particularly those who believed that because of his dancing habit, he could not be a serious public official.
In response to his triumph before the Supreme Court on Tuesday, the governor claimed that dancing is his pastime and that he has never pretended to be skilled at it.
Many of his rivals, he claimed, who had mistreated and undervalued him while witnessing his brilliance, had since joined him as dancers.
He said: “A lot of people who have been thinking that I may not be a good governor because I dance, they are now dancing, all of them are now dancing because that is my strength,” Mr Adeleke said on Channels TV on Tuesday night.
“Dancing is my hobby. I don’t pretend, I don’t impress. I’m not a pretender. I am U.S. trained, I went to school, I don’t pretend and when it comes to my work, you need to see me.”
He added: “Then, I surprised them. I was underrated. Now they know they cannot underrate me anymore because I have shown them what I get, I have shown them what I can do for my people, I have shown them good governance and more good things are coming.”
