The leadership of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) have sent out a team of emissaries to beg Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State to support the Party’s presidential bid.
The team was made up of Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom), Douye Diri (Bayelsa), Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta) and Godwin Obaseki (Edo).
Governor of Sokoto, Aminu Tambuwal, who is also the Director-General, Atiku/Okowa Campaign Council and Chairman of Nigeria Governors’ Forum, was also in attendance.
Others present were the immediate past governors of Cross River State, Liyel Imoke; Lucky Igbinedion of Edo; Celestine Omehia; the immediate past National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus; serving and past members of the National Assembly, serving and past Members of State Assemblies.

Wike also believes it is injustice for both the Party’s presidential candidate and the Party’s chairman to be from the North.
Wike felt he was robbed of the presidential ticket at the Party’s primaries.
