Amidst the rising death toll of victims of the Owo Church attack, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has signed into law an amendment to the Amotekun code in Ondo State.
It was gathered that another victim of the attack passed on yesterday, taking the death toll to 41, while 17 others are still battling for their lives in different hospitals across the state and Nigeria.
Akeredolu while signing the amendment at the State Executive Chamber of his office, said it(the amendment) became necessary due to worsening insecurity in the state.
He however expressed confidence that the new law will be capable of tackling the issues the state is facing with crime.
