Senator Iyiola Omisore, the National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has resigned.
His resignation comes after the National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, also resigned on Sunday night.
The Deputy National Organizing Secretary, Nze Chidi Duru, had previously confirmed Adamu’s resignation. The resignations occurred during a meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) at the Buhari House national secretariat of the party. Senator Abubakar Kyari, the acting National Chairman of the party presided over the meeting.
Interestingly, Senator Omisore was reportedly prevented from entering the meeting, and his parking spot was taken by his deputy.
Upon leaving the secretariat, Omisore stated that he intended to meet with Adamu and expressed his confusion over the former Nasarawa Governor’s absence. Duru also mentioned that the NWC members had been anticipating Omisore’s resignation.
