A former Education Minister, Obiageli “Oby” Ezekwesili has distanced herself from the main opposition party, the PDP and their presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
On Monday, the PDP claimed that Ezekwesili who is an economic expert was part of the economic team Atiku Abubakar formed while he was former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s Vice.
Others the party included on the pamphlet were, former Finance Minister, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, a former Central Bank Governor, Charles Soludo, and former FCT Minister, Nasir El-Rufai.
“2023: The @OfficialPDPNig Presidential Candidate, @atiku is committed to working assiduously to achieve a United, Secure and Economically Viable Nigeria, that will work for all citizens irrespective of their social status, religious, ethnic or political biases. #Atiku4SURE,” the statement by the party read.
Obiageli who is a wife and mother of two denied being involved in any economic team constituted by the then Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.
She said, “It might be an innocent mistake, but this statement is false and therefore extremely misleading, @OfficialPDPNig. He did not.
She also said it is wrong for her picture to be used on the campaign pamphlet without her permission, and asked to be removed.
“It is also wrong that you have used my picture in your campaign flier without my consent. Please do kindly remove this immediately.
Many thanks!”
