Former Minister of Aviation cum member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Femi Fani Kayode has reacted to the endorsement of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi by former President, Olusegun Obasanjo.
Obasanjo on Sunday, January 1st, endorsed Obi as his preferred candidate for the 2023 elections.
In the 2023 New Year message signed by the former president and made available to newsmen by his aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, Obasanjo described Obi as his mentee and said the former Anambra State governor had an edge in the 2023 elections.
But reacting to Obasanjo’s endorsement of Obi, Fani-Kayode in a tweet on his handle on Sunday night, said the former president remains a father to all of them, adding that he will always respect him.
He noted that despite that, he reserves the right to disagree with him when and where necessary.
According to the former minister, Obasanjo’s endorsement of Obi is not only inexplicable but also an exercise in futility.
He boasted that 2023 is the time for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, adding that nothing can, change that.
He wrote, “OBJ remains a father to us all & I will always respect him. Despite that I reserve the right to disagree with him when & where necessary.
“His endorsement of @PeterObi is not only inexplicable but also an exercise in futility. It is @officialABAT’s time: nothing can change that.”
