Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has denied rumours that he has endorsed the presidential candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This is coming after the Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila stated that the former Military Head of State raved about Tinubu.
Gbajabiamila had at Surulere Local Government Area APC meeting in Surulere, Lagos, said he was there in attendance when the two met in Abeokuta, and from the meeting he can deduce the 2023 election will be a walk in the park for Tinubu.
However, Obasanjo has through his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, who spoke on Saturday, denied such claims.
Obasanjo said, “Those claiming to be insiders at the meeting issuing statement on the discussion and those crediting to me statement I had not made are enemies of the visitor and are not doing the visit any good.”
