Head Coach of Remo Stars, Daniel Ogunmodede has been named the NPFL Manager of the Month for his exploits in the month of March and April 2023.
The young coach who turns 43 in three days’ time has rejuvenated the Ogun State-based club from a side struggling for points to an unbeaten run.
He took to his twitter handle in appreciation for the award stating that it won’t be possible without the help of team.
“Very proud to have been named the NPFL Manager of the month for March/April.
This won’t have been possible without my assistants and my backroom staffs, players, my family and everyone at the club working towards us achieving success, I say thank you,” He posted on twitter.
Shortly before the half-season break at the end of February, Remo Stars had just won once in five games (W1, D2, L2), a run that saw them drop 10 points from a possible 15.
But the window resulting from the nation’s general elections at the time felt like a blessing in disguise, as Ogunmodede’s side returned to the league on steroids.
Barring the 2-1 win away at Plateau United in their last game in May, the Sky Blue Stars went on a seven-game unbeaten run between March and April, winning thrice alongside four draws.
The run saw them sit pretty amongst the top three teams in Group A going into the final day in the league (vs Kwara United), to secure qualification into the Super Six round.
