The Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday seven fixtures continued on Sunday evening with seven matches played across seven stadia in the country.
Sunshine stars, Lobi stars and Enugu Rangers won on home oil while Bendel Insurance, Plateau United, Akwa United and Wikki Tourist drew away from home.
Group A
League leaders Bendel Insurance, threw a two-goal lead away to Shooting Stars at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan in an entertaining 2-2 draw.
The draw still leaves Benin Arsenal as the only team that’s unbeaten in the league this season as shooting stars’ struggles continue.
Remo Stars failed to close the gap on Bendel Insurance as Ibrahim Mustapha’s goal canceled out Segun’s first half strike for the host in a 1-1 draw against Plateau United in Ikenne.
Another draw was recorded in group A as El Kanemi Warriors drew 1-1 at home to Akwa United.
Group B
Lobi Stars overtakes champions Rivers United to top of group B with a 2-1 win over Dakkada FC.
Goals from each half from Joseph Atule and Kumaga Suur gave the home side a much needed three points and extended their unbeaten league run to six games.
Chidera Ezeh’s 38th minute penalty kick against Doma United handed Enugu Rangers their second league win of the season while two first half strikes from Udom Ekerette and Samson Olasupo gave Sunshine Stars a 2-0 victory over Niger Tornadoes at the Akure township stadium in a game in which Super Eagles head coach José Peseiro was in attendance.
Earlier, Abia Warriors drew 1-1 at home to struggling Wikki Tourist who is still yet to get a coach as the host 28th minute effort was ruled out by a late goal by the away side in Aba.
