On Easter Sunday, a day people were celebrating the resurrection of the Lord, residents discovered a dead new born baby in Makurdi, Benue State capital.
The dead baby was found in a refuse container on No. 1 Vandeikya Street, located in High Level part of the town.
It is not clear how the child got there, but a source, Mr. Torbem Ahula, told Switch Nigeria that authorities are on the look out for the mother of the child.
According to Michael Onah, the General Manager of Benue State Environment and Sanitation Agency (BENSESA), the police have began an investigation into the incident and called on any useful leads that will help apprehend the perpetrators of the act.
