Former Senator Shehu Sani has called on the Federal Government or the Borno State Government to honour one Yakubu Fannami who died while interrupting a bomb in 2017.
Yakubu Fannami who was an SS1 Student, gave up his life to protect lives of many from a suicide bomber at a mosque in Maiduguri on January 25, 2017.
He restrained a female suicide bomber from gaining access into a mosque at Kaleri, Borno. The suicide bomber blew herself & Yakubu up.
To mark the 6th anniversary of his death, Sani, a human rights activist has called for the government to posthumously honour him by naming a street after him.
“On this day in 2017, A Borno state Secondary school Student,Yakubu Muhammed Fannami grabbed and intercepted a suicide bomber.He lost his life and saved that of hundreds of others.
“He deserved a street named after him or a monument erected in his honour May his soul rest in peace.
