A Nigerian man, Gabal Mark, has recounted the “pain” he and his siblings suffered from the action of his dad.
Mark recounted that his dad, who was a millionaire was very generous to people outside but frugal with his family.
He disclosed this while reacting to a post by a Twitter user, simply by the name, Talk2vee.
In the post by Talk2vee, she posted a funeral poster of a man, who wrote a rather inappropriate tribute to his late father.
In the tribute, the unnamed man lamented that his late father was very good to people outside but that he left his home in shambles with no single legacy to his children.
The man also said he regretted having his late father as his dad while growing up.
Taking to the comment section of the tweet, Mark disclosed that the late man was just like his dad.
He recalled that his dad once paid for the fees of one of his schoolmates in full and paid half of his own.
Continuing, he also recalled that his dad gave jobs to several people at the firms he worked for, but that after he retired nobody remembered him or his children.
He lamented that he and his siblings had to start from the floor and work their way up, adding that apart from education, they didn’t get anything else from their father.
Mark further lamented that his dad, who was a millionaire as of 2004, struggled to roof his own house in 2019, adding that people he helped were landlords already and some had even travelled out.
Below is his full narration
This man is built just like my dad. Very generous to people outside, while he’s very frugal with us inside. My dad paid for my schoolmate’s school fees in full and paid half of mine. That’s just to cite one of the numerous instances that this happened.
I lost count of the people he gave jobs at the firms he worked for. But after he retired nobody remembered him or us. Nobody. We his kids had to start from the floor and work our way up. Apart from education, we didn’t get anything else.
That was just an example at that point we were already used to it and we just resigned to our fate. My dad was a millionaire as of 2004, it was in 2019 before he struggled to roof his own house. People he helped were landlords already, some travelled out.
