Disgraced and suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari has expressed worry over his safety now that he’s behind bars.
Abba Kyari who is incarcerated because of his involvement with popular internet fraudster, Hushpuppi, said his life is endangered because he’s sharing the same prison with IPOB and ESN members.
Kyari has applied for bail at the Federal High Court through his attorney, Nureini Jimoh, but it has been rejected.
A document issued by his lawyer read; “At the centre, the applicants who were head and deputy head of the Intelligence Response Team of the Nigeria Police Force met stiff resistance, attack and open threats to the lives of the applicants by series head (sic) of criminal gang that they had busted.
Kyari labelled the ESN and the IPOB as criminals.
“There is no correctional centre that the criminals that have been arrested by the IRT under the headship of the applicant in furtherance of their constitutional and statutory duties as police officers cannot be found and there is a high likelihood of threat to the lives of the applicants.”
