Muslim-Muslim Ticket: Has Tinubu Thrown Christians Under The Bus – Reno Omokri Asks

Former presidential aide to ex President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has reacted to the selection of Kashim Shettima as running mate by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023 general election.

Tinubu is a Muslim and Shettima, two term governor of Borno State, and now serving senator is also a Muslim.

SWITCH NIGERIA recalls that some stakeholders in the country had warned the former Lagos State Governor against picking a Muslim running mate, as Muslim-Muslim ticket would sideline the Christians.

However, a report by Vanguard on Sunday indicated that Tinubu has settled for Senator Kashim Shettima as his running mate.

Shettima, the representative of Borno Central Senatorial District in the Red Chamber, was a two-term Governor of Borno State.

Tinubu is expected to inform President Muhammadu Buhari about his choice of running mate within the week.

Reacting to the news, Omokri took to his official twitter handle a while ago to ask whether Tinubu has thrown Christians under the bus by picking Shettima as his deputy.

He wrote, “Has Tinubu Thrown Christians Under The Bus by Choosing Shettima, as his deputy in a Muslim-Muslim Ticket?”
