Mason Mount grabbed the all the accolades as his two goals were enough to see off Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa at Villa Park.
He got his first in the 6th minute of the game after a mishit header by Tyrone Mings fell nicely for him.
For his second in the 65th minite, when a wickedly dipping free-kick came in from the left side of the area, over 20 yards out from goal, Mount flummoxed Martinez and found the back of the net! His shot crossed the line in the centre of the goal, so Villa’s keeper would have been disappointed with his failure to respond.
Graham Potter has now won five of his first six games in charge of Chelsea (D1), including each of the last five – his joint-longest winning run of his managerial career (another five times previously).
