Peter Obi and his running mate, Prof. Baba Yusuf Ahmed-Datti paid a courtesy visit to controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Gumi on Monday.
In a Tweet, Obi said they visited Gumi in his Kaduna State residence.
“Dr Datti Baba-Ahmed and I stopped by for a courtesy call on Sheikh Gumi at his official residence in Kaduna,” Obi’s Tweet read.
But the gesture was not well received by Nigerians, some his critics, some his supporters.
Many questioned Obi associating with such a divisive figure, one who has made several comments supporting the activities of bandits.
